Residents Can Sign Up For Darien Swap Shop Closure Alerts
The Darien Swap Shop closes during inclement weather and when real feel temperatures are below 32 degrees.
DARIEN, CT — Residents can now receive alerts when the Darien Swap Shop is going to be closed.
The Swap Shop is usually open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., except during inclement weather which includes rain, snow, extreme heat and when "real feel" temperatures are below 32 degrees.
To sign up for email alerts on when the Swap Shop will close, send an email to swapshop@darienct.gov. News about the Swap Shop, including closures, are also posted regularly on the shop's Instagram account.

There are new exclusive hours for Darien seniors on the third Tuesday of the month (following Tuesday in case of inclement weather).
Seniors can sign up through At Home in Darien by calling 203-655-2227, or email info@athomeindarien.org. Rides on their transport bus are available but not required, the town said in a recent announcement.

The town reminded residents the Swap Shop is run entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers, and operations are not affiliated with Darien Public Works. Comments or questions should be directed to swapshop@darienct.gov.
Additionally, items should not be left when the Swap Shop is closed. Any drop-offs outside normal hours should be coordinated via email.
