Armed Woman Robs Chase Bank Branch on Noroton Ave.

The robber left the store with the loot in a blue shopping bag.

Just past 4 p.m. Tuesday, a woman entered Chase Bank at 165 Noroton Ave., approached an employee and displayed a firearm, according to Darien police.

She got the money she demanded and left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash in a blue shopping bag, police said.

The woman is described as about 5 feet, 3 inches in height and wearing a bright yellow, hooded jacket. The bank branch, at the corner of Heights Road and Noroton Avenue, is less than a block away from the southbound-lanes entrance to Interstate 95 near Exit 10, but police didn’t say which direction she went after leaving the bank.

Police are actively investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information about it or who knows the suspected robber to call Darien police detectives at 203-662-5330.

The Darien Police Department is currently investigating a robbery of the Chase Bank located at 165 Noroton Ave. Shortly after 4:00pmthis afternoon, a white female entered the establishment and approached a bank employee. The suspect then displayed a firearm and demanded cash. The female suspect is described as approximately 5’3” tall and was wearing a bright yellow, hooded jacket. The suspect left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash in a blue shopping bag.
