Boutique Pilates Studio Proposed In Darien: P&Z Docs
The business would offer Pilates classes and a variety of wellness-based products and other services, according to submitted documents.
DARIEN, CT — A new boutique Pilates studio with a wellness concept store has been proposed in Darien, according to documents on file with the town's Planning & Zoning Commission.
Spring Pilates is seeking a special permit to open at 13 Grove St. in the first-floor space formerly occupied by Le Boudoir, a blow-dry bar.
"The mission of Spring is to build a brand of wellness-based services and products that inspire individuals to reach their personal goals, to foster a community of self-love and respect where individuals can grow and thrive and feel empowered, strong and fit in their everyday lives," an overview of the business says.

Owned by Mollie Jones Boyle, a Pilates instructor and health coach with over 10 years of experience, the studio will offer Pilates classes and fitness and athleisure apparel, accessories, beauty products, bath and body products, and fitness accessories, submitted documents note.
"At Spring, we not only offer a wide variety of challenging classes, but we do so in a beautiful and inviting space. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to providing high-quality instruction that will push our clients to their limits and help them achieve their fitness goals," a description of services says. "But our services don't stop there. We understand that wellness is not just about physical fitness, but also about nurturing the mind and soul. That's why we also offer a range of wellness-related offerings such as nutrition counseling, meditation, sound therapy and other wellness-based workshops."

Group Pilates reformer classes will be offered "using a variety of formats to incorporate strength, cardio movement, stretching and meditation for a total mind/body workout."
There will be several options for clients to purchase classes through a drop-in, a monthly membership, or packages of five, 10, or 20 classes.
An overview of the proposal says Boyle helped open Club Pilates Darien in 2017 and has worked in various Pilates studios in Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, Norwalk, Westport, Dallas, Texas, and Nantucket, Mass., over the years.
"Mollie has had a dream to open her own studio since she started teaching, and she believes that she has the existing client base, the knowledge and the experience to provide a Pilates experience that is currently not seen in this area," documents note. "She believes that Pilates is the foundation for a strong body whether you are an athlete, recovering from an injury or simply trying to feel your best."
The Darien Planning & Zoning Commission is set to examine the proposal during its regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
