Darien HS Girls Lacrosse Player Ranked As Nation's Top Senior

Inside Lacrosse has ranked one of Darien's own the top senior for the class of 2023. Two other Darien girls lacrosse players made the list.

DARIEN, CT — One of Darien's own headlines the list of top lacrosse players in the country for the class of 2023, according to Inside Lacrosse.

Chloe Humphrey, an attacker for the Darien High School Blue Wave, leads a list of impressive players who are set to graduate this spring. Humphrey has committed to playing at North Carolina next year.

She's been touted by Inside Lacrosse, a leader in lacrosse coverage and an ESPN affiliate, for a couple years.

Humphrey was also ranked No. 1 on Inside Lacrosse's initial 2023 watchlist in December 2021.

"Her skillset is next-level and her competitive nature, coupled with her knack for making things happen seemingly at will, set her apart on the field when the game is on the line," Inside Lacrosse said at the time. "Even with the All-America depth the Tar Heels currently possess, you have to imagine the UNC staff is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Humphrey in Chapel Hill."

Humphrey helped lead the Blue Wave to a 15-0 regular season record in 2022. Darien lost to New Canaan in the Class L girls lacrosse final.

Joining Humphrey on the list of top seniors in the country are two of her teammates. Defender Kaci Benoit, who has committed to Syracuse, is ranked 13th. Midfielder Ryan Hapgood, who will play at Dartmouth next year, is ranked 17th.

Humphrey, Benoit and Hapgood were among a handful of Blue Wave girls lacrosse players named All-FCIAC First Team last year.
