• Miss Representation: At 7 p.m., the Darien Library hosts a screening of the 2011 documentary Miss Representation (parental guidance suggested) followed by an expert panel discussion. The film "explores the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America, and challenges the media's limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman."
• Holiday Makeovers: At 11 a.m., the hosts "Holiday Makeovers," a chance to get ready for holiday parties and to find out how to make the best of the make-up you already own. Linda Hurst is back this year to discuss how to use and where to buy makeup, and demonstrate technique of application. Bring your own make-up and a small stand up mirror so you can try out her techniques.
• Linda George paintings: From now until Nov. 9,  by Linda George will be on display in the library's Art Gallery.
• Fashion Transformed: From now until Jan. 27, the y hosts ." The exhibit features 17 costumes from the era. The center is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
