Darien Police: Man Arrested for Selling Drugs to Teens
Police have arrested a man for selling drugs to teens from a local restaurant.

Darien Police arrested a man for selling marijuana to teens from a local restaurant on Monday, Jan. 26.
Namgyao Kelsang, 20, of 8 Mansfield Ave. in Darien and formerly of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested by Darien Police for attempting to sell marijuana behind the Steam Restaurant, located at 971 Post Road, according to police. After his arrest, police searched Kelsang’s residence, discovering an additional 13 grams of marijuana.
Kelsang was subsequently charged with two counts of illegal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of narcotics and one count of conspiracy to sale of a controlled substance, police said.

The Darien Police Department Selective Enforcement Unit (SEU) developed information that an employee of Steam Restaurant had been distributing marijuana to teens either inside the restaurant or in the rear parking lot. Police said the SEU then conducted a series of controlled purchases with the employee, later identified as Kelsang, leading to his arrest.
Kelsang is being held on $11,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
