We asked Patch Readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "Drivers. Watched 3 cars gun it through a red light on West and Hollow Tree within 20 minutes today while walking my dog. And not a "just turned red" light but more like it was red for a good second or two. It's bad."
- "Uneven sidewalks all around town."
- "Bicyclists who think they are above the law"
- "People using their phone whilst driving."
- "High school drivers racing down the road after school. Someone is going to get hurt"
- "All Rte 34 intersections between Lone Oak Meadow and Rte 111. So many wrecks along that way, especially at Bennet's Bridge."
- "Drivers south on Post Road and making left onto Tokeneke, with police cars driving north on Post Road and ignoring it. Cell phone usage and again the police ignoring it."
- "Running red lights constantly. Excessive speed on Post Road."
- "Over speeding cars and commercial vehicles parked on West Ave."
- "Lack of sidewalks."
