Darien YMCA Gymnasts Have Strong Showing At Y Nationals
Several gymnasts from the Darien YMCA excelled recently at the 2023 YMCA National Gymnastics Championship and Invitational.
DARIEN, CT — Several Darien YMCA gymnasts impressed at the 2023 YMCA National Gymnastics Championship and Invitational, which was held from June 21 to June 25 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Hundreds of gymnasts participated on the balance beam, floor, uneven bars and vault, and were given an all-around score.
Grace Creanza, 13, led the way by capturing the Level 6 All-Around Championship. Her all-around score was 37.250. Creanza was the only gymnast to break 37 in her session, coming in with a score of 9.6 on floor, 9.4 on bars, 9.2 on vault, 9.050 on beam.

Eva Downes, 13, took home a third-place all-around finish with a score of 36.825, and Juliet DeStefano, 12, placed fifth with an all-around score of 36.550.
The Darien YMCA posted photos of the gymnasts on Facebook and congratulated them on their achievements.
