Fire Log: Carbon Monoxide Alarm at Post 53

Darien's fire departments also responded to five motor vehicle accidents last week.

MONDAY, SEPT. 26

  • Fire alarm: The , , and were called to respond to a fire alarm activation at 85 Old Kings Hwy. N around 11:09 a.m.
  • Motor vehicle accident: The NHFD and DFD were called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at I-95 N exit 11/12 around 4:34 p.m.
  • Carbon monoxide alarm: The DFD was called to respond to a carbon monoxide alarm activation at 45 Birch Rd. around 6:40 p.m. No unusual readings were found at the scene, however.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 27

  • Fire alarm: The DFD was called to respond to a fire alarm activation at 2 Wakeman Rd. around 4:06 a.m.
  • Fire alarm: The DFD was called to respond to a fire alarm activation at 2 Chasmars Pond Dr. around 12:36 p.m. The cause was determined to be dust generated by contractors sanding at the site.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 29

  • Carbon monoxide alarm: The DFD was called to respond to a carbon monoxide alarm at 152 Old Kings Hwy. N around 8:02 a.m.
  • Gas odor: The DFD was called to respond to a gas odor at 800 Post Rd. around 8:30 a.m. 
  • Carbon monoxide alarm: The DFD and NHFD were called to respond to a carbon monoxide alarm activation at (0 Ledge Rd.) around 6:55 p.m. No unusual readings were found at the scene, however.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 30

  • Fire alarm: The DFD was called to respond to a fire alarm activation at 537 Post Rd. around 9:33 a.m. The cause was determined to be a contractor working at the site.
  • Motor vehicle accident: The DFD was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at Brookside Road and Overbrook Road around 12:10 p.m.
  • Motor vehicle accident: The DFD was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at Leroy Avenue and West Avenue around 1:16 p.m.

SATURDAY, OCT. 1

  • Motor vehicle accident: The DFD was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at I-95 N exit 13 around 10:07 p.m.

SUNDAY, OCT. 2

  • Motor vehicle accident: The DFD was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at I-95 N exit 10 around 12:45 p.m.
  • Fire alarm: The NHFD was called to respond to a fire alarm activation at 97 Hoyt St. around 10:21 p.m. Nothing unusual was found at the scene, however.
