Fire Log: Ceiling Fire on Tokeneke Road

Firefighters also responded to four motor vehicle accidents last week, including a van that struck a utility pole on Post Road.

MONDAY, SEPT. 12

  • Carbon monoxide alarm: The  was called to respond to a carbon monoxide alarm at 17 Waverly Rd. around 6:09 a.m. Low levels of the gas were detected, but the exact source was not determined.

  • Motor vehicle accident: The , NFD, and were called to Post Road after a van struck a utility pole in front of . No serious injuries were reported in the accident. Read the full story here:

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 14

  • Smoke scare: The DFD and NHF were called to respond to a smoke scare at 1 Tokeneke Beach Dr. around 2:25 p.m. The cause was determined to be steam emanating from an oil burner.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 15

  • Motor vehicle accident: The NHF was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at I-95 north exit 11 around 6:47 p.m.
  • Structure fire: The DFD was called to respond to a fire in the ceiling of 285 Tokeneke Rd. around 7:52 p.m.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 16

  • Motor vehicle accident: The DFD and NFD were called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at West Avenue and Noroton Avenue around 11:04 a.m.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 17

  • Motor vehicle accident: The NHF was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident/injury at I-95 north exit 11 around 6:10 a.m.
  • Fire alarm: The DFD was called to respond to a fire alarm activation at 22 Oak Crest around 8:19 a.m. The cause was determined to be smoke emanating from burnt food.
  • Smoke in house: Around 2:30 p.m., the NHF was called to respond to a report of smoke in the residence at 89 Hollow Tree Ridge Rd. The cause was determined to be a broken hot water line.
