Fire Log: Smoking Toaster, Falling Trees
Darien firefighters also respond to five motor vehicle accidents.

The following information was provided by the Office of the Fire Marshal:
Monday, July 19
SMOKE SCARE: Around 12:40 p.m., the Darien Fire Department, Noroton Fire Department, and Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a smoke scare at 14 Crooked Mile Road. Firefighters traced the smoke to an air conditioner compressor that had shorted out.

SMOKE SCARE: A second smoke scare brought the Darien Fire Department to 454 Post Road around 5:02 p.m. The cause was determined to be burnt food in a toaster at the location.

CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM: Around 8:18 p.m., the Darien Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide alarm activation at 86 Mansfield Ave.
Wednesday, July 21
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: The Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/injury at West Avenue and Hollow Tree Ridge Road around 2:12 p.m.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: Around 2:36 p.m., the Darien Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/injury on I-95 North in the vicinity of exit 10.
SMOKE ODOR: Around 6:55 p.m., the Darien Fire Department was called to the scene of a smoke odor at 35 Mansfield Avenue after a tree fell on the residence during a band of intense storms that rolled through Darien. No injuries were reported in the incident.
HAZARDOUS CONDITION: The Noroton Fire Department was called 6 Pasture Lane around 9:05 p.m. due to a tree that had fallen on electrical lines during Wednesday's storms.
Thursday, July 22
CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM: The Darien Fire Department, Noroton Fire Department, and Noroton Heights Fire Department were called to a carbon monoxide alarm activation at 5 Oak Crest around 9:25 a.m.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: Around 10:36 a.m., the Darien Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/injury at Mansfield Avenue and Sedgwick Avenue.
PROPANE GAS ALARM: A propane gas alarm brought the Darien Fire Department to 36 Ridge Acres Road around 3:07 p.m. Firefighters identified the cause as a gas leak.
Saturday, July 24
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY: Around 11:37 a.m., the Darien Fire Department and Noroton Heights Fire Department came to the scene of a motor vehicle accident/injury around exit 10 on I-95 north.
HAZARDOUS CONDITION The Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a set of power lines on fire near Hollow Tree Ridge Road and Haskell Lane around 9:29 p.m.
Sunday, July 25
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT/INJURY The Noroton Heights Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident/injury at 374 Hoyt Street around 1:44 p.m.
