DARIEN, CT — After nearly 18 years, the Melting Pot of Darien has closed its doors.

The fondue restaurant chain posted on Facebook Wednesday that the Darien location at 14 Grove St., the only Melting Pot in Connecticut, has closed indefinitely due to not being able to come to terms on a lease renewal. The restaurant originally announced its plans to close in December.

"It has been an honor and privilege to have served the Fairfield County community for almost 18 years and be a part of fondue celebrations since 2005," the recent Facebook post read. "While there are no confirmed plans to re-open this location, The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., has a strong interest in returning to Connecticut in the future."
