New Boys Basketball Coach Named At Darien High School
The Darien High School Athletic Department announced the hiring on Monday.
DARIEN, CT — The Darien High School Athletic Department on Monday announced the hiring of Matt Menard as the new Blue Wave boys basketball coach.
Menard comes to DHS having spent the last few years serving as the head junior varsity and assistant varsity basketball coach at Norwalk High School.
Additionally, Menard is the JV baseball coach at Weston High School and previously coached at Newtown High School. Menard is an English teacher at Broadview High School in Danbury.

"Coach Menard impressed the interview committee with his knowledge and passion for the sport of basketball, but more importantly, a deep care for the well-being of the students/athletes he coaches," DHS Athletics said on X, the social media app formerly known as Twitter.
A players-only meeting will be held in the wrestling room at DHS on Oct. 16 at 2:45 p.m. for any student interested in trying out for the boys basketball team and to meet Menard.
