Parking Fines May be Increasing in Manchester
Some business owners say important customer parking spaces are being taken up by residents who are either working or live nearby.

Manchester officials are considering a proposal to increase overtime parking fines on Main Street from $10 to $25, NBC Connecticut reports.
The issue was first raised by Manchester Hardware Owner Bob Dorin who is concerned that vital customer spaces are being taken up by people who aren’t shopping.

But Dorin isn’t alone, as Elaine Hadge, of the Landmark Cafe, also is concerned about customer parking spaces being tied up by tenants who live in nearby apartment, NBC Connecticut reports.
The parking situation is having an adverse effect on local businesses, owners say. No date for a vote on increasing the overtime parking fines has been set.
