Police Seek Mechanic Who Took Customer's SUV
Richard Benevides went to work early this morning at a Darien car dealership, entered an SUV on the lot, and drove off.

Authorities are searching for a Bridgeport man drove off the lot of a Darien car dealership Tuesday in a customer's vehicle, according to the Darien Police Department.
Richard Benevides, a mechanic employed at the dealership, reportedly arrived at the site in the early morning, left some personal belongings behind, and entered a customer vehicle before driving away around 6:30 a.m.
He was last spotted around 11:15 a.m. by an ATM surveillance camera in the Bridgeport/Fairfield area. Police said his family has no knowledge of his whereabouts.

Benevides is described as a 6'0" 220-pound man with short brown hair, a goatee, a mustache, and tattoos on his wrist and arm. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, blue shorts, and tan work boots.
The vehicle Benevides was last seen operating is a blue 2003 Chevy Tahoe, Connecticut license plate 838-XEZ.
