Popular Milkshake Chain To Open Location In Darien

It was announced recently that the business will come to Darien. A location is also being planned for Stamford.

DARIEN, CT — Milkshake Factory, a Pennsylvania-based chain that serves up hand-spun milkshakes and premium chocolates, will open a location in Darien.

It was announced late last month that the business will come to the new Heights Crossing development, which recently opened. A location is also being planned for Stamford at the High Ridge Shopping Center inside the former home of Cold Stone Creamery.

Heights Crossing features 65 luxury rental apartments — 31 one-bedroom, 30 two-bedroom, and 4 three-bedroom units, with 10 designated as affordable housing.

There is also 28,765 square feet of retail and commercial space, with several tenants open now including the Goddard School, Pvolve, Sharkey's Cuts for Kids, and Heights Wines & Spirits, according to Joe Vaccaro, president and partner at V20 Group, the commercial real estate development firm in charge of the Heights Crossing project.

Vaccaro told Patch that Raphaël’s Bakery is hoping to open in October. Chipotle and Garden Catering are both looking to open in November or December.

It's unclear when Milkshake Factory will open. Patch has reached out to representatives for the company.

Family-owned since 1914, Milkshake Factory started off as an old-fashioned soda fountain and chocolate shop and evolved into an iconic spot for sweets in Pittsburgh, Pa.

There are now multiple locations in Pittsburgh and throughout Pennsylvania, as well as Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. The company's website shows more locations "coming soon."

The menu at Milkshake Factory features signature milkshakes ranging from the chocolate-dipped strawberry to peanut butter brownie. Milkshakes are made with homemade ice cream, and there are also dairy-free options.

Premium chocolates crafted by generational chocolatiers are also available.
