Public Hearing Scheduled On Proposed Tipping Fee Increase In Darien

Several changes to tipping fees for haulers are being proposed.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Nov. 3 to get public comment on proposed increased to tipping fees for haulers.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Town Hall Room 206.

According to the most recent Darien community newsletter, the following changes are proposed:

  • Increase Municipal Solid Waste from $118/ton to $125/ton
  • Increase Construction & Demolition waste from $130/ton to $140/ton
  • Increase Brush from $85/ton to $95/ton
  • Increase Leaves from $70/ton to $80/ton

All members of the public are invited will have the chance to give comments on the proposal.
