Recent Crime And Incident Statistics From The Darien Police Department

The Darien Police Commission held a regularly scheduled meeting on Aug. 28.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Commission held a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday and gave a rundown of recent crime and incident statistics.

Here are the stats from July 10, the date of the previous Police Commission meeting, to Aug. 28, according to police:

  • Total calls for service: 2,199
  • Traffic stops: 657
  • Domestic disturbance incidents: five
  • Domestic violence incidents: five
  • Identity theft incidents: 15
  • Motor vehicle burglaries: five (three were unlocked cars; other two locked, but no forced entry)
  • Stolen motor vehicles: two (keys not in vehicles)
  • Motor vehicle accidents: 50 (four with injuries, two involving a pedestrian or bicyclist, and 13 on private property)
