Sidewalk Replacement Project Planned In Darien

Work is expected to take a month, according to the town.

DARIEN, CT — The Town of Darien announced this week it will begin a sidewalk replacement project on the west side of Nearwater Lane between the intersections of Brush Island Road and Nickerson Lane on or about Monday, Nov. 3.

A preliminary layout and tree removal work will begin beforehand, the town said. Overall, work is expected to take approximately a month.

The new asphalt sidewalk will be at approximately the same location as the existing sidwalk, but it include handicap ramps at intersections.

The work area will remain open to traffic, the town noted. Darien police or other traffic personnel will be at the site during construction.
