Power Out Early Thurs. Evening in Darien, Stamford, New Canaan
A power outage knocked out power to parts of Darien and New Canaan, as well as a large part of Stamford.
Update 6:52 p.m.:
The CL&P online outage map shows all power restored, more than an hour earlier than expected, so dinner may not be cold for some people.

"They were doing maintenance at the [Glenbrook] substation, and there was a short," A CL&P on-call representative said about the current power outage in Stamford, Darien and New Canaan. "I know they're working on it."

The number without power in Stamford has been cut by about half, with 10,696 now in the dark (19 percent). In Darien, 735 remain without power, down by 20.
Update 6:35 p.m.:
Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia said his office has been advised by CL&P officials that crews have begun working on repairing the problem and expect to have power restored by approximately 8:00 p.m. this evening.

A power outage has affected 755 customers in Darien as of 6:20 p.m. as well as many more customers in Stamford. New Canaan was affected but power there has now largely been restored, with only 16 customers currently in the dark.
According to Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia's office, the outage is reportedly due to a malfunction of a feeder line at the Glenbrook substation.
Pavia said his office has been advised by CL&P officials that crews have begun working on repairing the problem and expect to have power restored by approximately 8:00 p.m. this evening.
Social media alerts from the Belltown Fire Department are saying the areas of Shippan and Glenbrook are suffering outages.
