Sweetgreen To Open At Darien Commons This Week

Sweetgreen is one of a handful of tenants moving in to Darien Commons.​

DARIEN, CT — Sweetgreen, the popular fast-casual restaurant chain that offers a variety of salads, bowls, plates and sides, will open its new location in Darien on Tuesday, March 28.

The 2,400 square-foot restaurant located at 126 Heights Road at Darien Commons represents the chain's second Connecticut location. In December 2021, sweetgreen opened in Greenwich on Greenwich Avenue.

To celebrate, the grand opening in Darien will feature a farmers market sampling by Mike's Organic; baked goods from Flour Water Salt Bread; and flower bouquets from Darien Flowers.

Sweetgreen Darien can accommodate 26 diners inside with banquette seating and 16 diners outside on the restaurant’s patio.

The restaurant will also feature a pickup window outside the restaurant to allow for a seamless pickup experience. Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday to Sunday.

Sweetgreen offers plant-forward, seasonal and earth-friendly meals, which can be customized, from fresh ingredients and produce that prioritizes organic, regenerative and local sourcing.

Menu items include warm bowl options like the Harvest Bowl: shredded kale, warm wild rice, roasted sweet potato, toasted almonds, apples, goat cheese, roasted chicken and balsamic vinaigrette.

The chicken pesto parm bowl features warm quinoa, baby spinach, spicy broccoli, tomato, za'atar breadcrumbs, roasted chicken, shaved parmesan, pesto vinaigrette and sweetgreen hot sauce.

There are also a variety of salads, like the Kale Caesar: chopped romaine, shredded kale, tomato, parmesan crisp, roasted chicken, shaved parmesan, caesar dressing and fresh lime squeeze; or the Garden Cobb: chopped romaine, spring mix, red onion, roasted sweet potato, toasted almonds, tomato, avocado, hard boiled egg, blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.

For every meal sold on opening day, sweetgreen will donate a meal to Food Rescue US.
