UPDATE: Train Delays on New Haven Line After Reported Car Accident at Noroton Heights Station

A motor vehicle accident at the Noroton Heights Station Friday morning has caused train delays on the New Haven Line.

Correction: Contrary to early reports, the accident occurred at the Noroton Heights Train Station.

Update, 8:37 a.m.:

Metro-North now tweets that train delays are nearly over: “New Haven Line Service is now operating on or close to schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.”

After reported a car accident at the Darien Metro-North Station, New Haven Line trains are experiencing delays of 5 to 10 minutes.

According to WFSB-TV, a driver stepped on the gas pedal instead of brakes and went through a fence at the station. The vehicle ended up near the tracks.

Metro-North tweeted at 7:50 a.m. that trains were 5 to 10 minutes late as a result of police activity.
