Uber Driver Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Teen: Darien Police

The arrest stems from an investigation that began in March of this year, according to police.

DARIEN, CT — A Norwalk man who was working as an Uber driver has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenager, according to the Darien Police Department.

The arrest stems from an investigation that began on March 15 into a report of a sexual assault involving Edgar Interiano, 33, and a 17-year-old victim, police said.

Interiano was initially charged on March 28 with second-degree reckless endangerment, procuring liquor for a minor, and storage of a pistol in a motor vehicle.

A warrant for second-degree sexual assault was later issued by Stamford Superior Court, police said.

Interiano was able to post a $100,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court on July 30.

"Due to the sensitive nature of the case, no further information will be released at this time," police said.
