Victim Struck By Paintballs, 2 Arrested: Darien Police

Two people were arrested after a victim told police they were struck by paintballs while walking home from the train station in Darien.

DARIEN, CT — A Wilton man and a juvenile are accused of firing paintballs at a person who was walking home from the train station in Darien late Sunday night, according to police.

Police were notified around 11:20 p.m. on Dec. 22 by a victim who said they were struck multiple times by pink paintballs while walking home from the train station.

The victim described the suspects as occupants of a large, dark-colored pickup truck, which police said was later found at an I-95 southbound rest stop.

Officers detained the driver, Nicholas Trichilo, and a juvenile passenger after finding a Cronus paintball gun loaded with pink paintballs matching those used in the assault, according to police.

Police said additional paintballs and CO2 canisters were also seized from the vehicle.

Trichilo, 20, of Wilton, was arrested on charges of second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond with a court date of Jan. 10.

The juvenile was issued a juvenile summons for Jan. 8, according to police.
