
Boy Scout Troop 270 rose to the challenge when asked by
their council to lead an Olympic style event at their annual camporee. The camporee was held at Camp Mattatuck in Plymouth, Connecticut on October 13, 2012.
The event was planned and organized in its entirety by leaders and scouts of Troop 270. They also enlisted the help of family and friends. The event had a Medieval Times theme.

The medieval event which drew approximately 155 attendees, featured games like jousting, archery, discus and shot put throw, tug-of-war, and a giant sling shot competition.
The event finale was a catapult launch. Catapult’s were built and used by participating scout troops who joined in on the launch. The target was a handmade castle built by
Troop 270’s Connor Schaefer and his father Paul Schaefer.
