Bundle Up: Coldest Air of the Season Arrives, Snow Possible on Friday
A blast of arctic air has ushered in freezing temperatures that will stick around through Thursday and forecasts are calling for snow to end the week.
The coldest temperatures of the season are expected overnight when temperatures fall into the single digits. The brutal cold will be made even less bearable with gusty winds that will push the wind chills below zero degrees.
Wednesday's highs are only forecast to reach the upper teens and the wind will be blustery throughout the day. Temperatures will dip back to near zero on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday afternoon, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced that the state was working to ensure that the state's most vulnerable residents were protected from the cold.
“The 2-1-1 system provides an incredibly important service to the people of Connecticut and I encourage everyone to take advantage of the help that is available to them," Malloy said.

"I am also encouraging local communities to consider opening warming centers or other facilities to help people in need."
The Middlefield Community Center and Durham Activity Center will be open Wednesday for regular business hours.
