Community Road Cleanup Event Scheduled In Middlefield

The event begins at 9 a.m. on May 6.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — On Saturday, May 6 the town will participate in a community road cleanup event.

"When driving or walking along the roads, does the sight of litter annoy you? Do you wish you could do something about it? Well, you can! Join us in making the entire Middlefield and Rockfall litter free by joining us in the Community Road Cleanup Day!" officials posted in an announcement on the town's website.

The event begins at 9 a.m. on May 6. Volunteers can come to Peckham Park on Saturday, May 6, between 9-11 am. "There you can enjoy a cup of coffee and donuts while picking up bags, gloves, and a trash picker," according to an announcement on the town's website.

"Return the unused materials and collected trash to Peckham Park by 5:00pm on Sunday, May 7th. It may be left in the assigned area for the town crew to pick up. The separate bags of the recyclables and the trash will be taken to the transfer station by the town crew on Monday....Please join in to keep Middlefield and Rockfall beautiful!"

The rain date is Sunday, May 7.
