Daily Five: District 13 Food Guy Mark Basil Named Coach of the Year

2. BOE Approves Tablet Pilot Program On Wednesday night, the District 13 Board of Education approved a proposal from Coginchaug High School Principal Andre Hauser to replace U.S. History textbooks with tablets.

3. Basil Named Coach of the Year A special shout-out to District 13 Food Service Director Mark Basil, who was recently named the New Haven Register's football Coach of the Year.

Basil led North Branford High School to a 12-1 record this season and a spot in the Class S state championship game.

4. Little League Registration Coginchaug Little League online registration continues for all new and returning players. To register your child, please go to www.coginchaugll.org and click on "Register Online". 

Registration fees for the Spring 2013 season are as follows: 

5/6 Year T-Ball - $85.00
Farm - $85.00
Minors/Majors - $110.00. 

There will be a maximum payment of $235.00 per family with multiple players.  An additional $25.00 fee will be applied to anyone who registers their player after January 31.

5. Reminder: Cut Those Box Tops Starting Feb. 1, Patch, The Mom Spot and Perk On Main are teaming up to help raise money for local schools.
