Durham Forum for Families of Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Held August 25
The forum will be hosted by the Durham Legislative Delegation and Durham First Selectwoman.

DURHAM, CT – The Durham Legislative Delegation and Durham First Selectwoman are hosting a forum for families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event will take place on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 6:00pm-7:30pm at the Durham Town Hall third floor meeting room located at 30 Town House Road.
The forum, hosted by Representative Noreen Kokoruda (R-101), Representative Vin Candelora (R-86), Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. (D-12), Senator Len Fasano (R-34) and Durham First Selectwoman Laura L. Francis, will feature panelists including state agency representatives, service providers, and advocacy groups.

The discussion and presentation will cover questions and concerns regarding issues faced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Topics of discussion will include new legislation to better help families communicate with DDS, what happens when individuals turn 21 and ‘age-out’ of state provided services, and what services and supports are available in Connecticut.
