Exhibit Donation Given in Honor of Retired Region 13 Teacher

Thirty-year education veteran Marcy Klattenberg was recognized during a ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The below posting came from a press release.

Marcy Klattenberg, who recently retired from the District 13 Outdoor Education program, accepted checks on behalf of Friends of Hammonasset at their monthly Board Meeting in Madison on Tuesday, Nov. 11. District 13 staff and families donated generously to honor Marcy’s many years of outstanding contributions to Outdoor and Environmental Education.

For almost thirty years, Marcy’s stories and lessons gave thousands of children and adults a greater appreciation of the natural world that surrounds them. The funds will assist in the construction of a special “Pond Turtle Exhibit” which will be housed in the new Meigs Point Nature Center, the groundbreaking is planned for this winter.
