Fake $100 Bill Given To Durham Diner, Then Bank: Police

Two women were arrested after a counterfeit $100 bill made its way through Durham.

Citizens Bank in Durham received a deposit from a local restaurant in December 2015 and identified a $100 bill as counterfeit.

Staff reported the situation to Durham Resident State Trooper Larry Morello, who initiated a criminal investigation.

Two suspects were identified as allegedly having involvement with knowingly passing the counterfeit $100 bill to Dine-In Durham Restaurant on Route 17 in Durham.

Morello worked with the United States Secret Service throughout the investigation. Arrest warrants applications for each of the suspects were granted by Middletown Superior Court for the arrest of the two suspects.

On Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, two arrests were made by Morello and troopers from Troop F, Westbrook Barracks.

Lisaann U. Siena, 40, of 44 Marlborough St., Portland, was arrested on charges of forgery in the first degree and providing a false statement in the second degree.

Also arrested was Akira Aurora Amill, 40, of 38 LaSalle St., New Britain, on a charge of conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree.

They were each held on a $5,000 bond for a court appearance in the Middletown Superior Court on February 10.
