Final Decision In On Winner in 101st District in Durham, Madison
The 101st District race in Durham and Madison went to a recount vote and the final decision was known late on Monday evening.

It took long into the night on Monday to confirm, but Noreen Kokoruda, R-Madison, is going back to serve a fifth term in the House of Representatives.
Kokoruda survived a recount vote in the 101st District, defeating political newcomer John-Michael Parker by 6,259 votes to 6,241 in the district that encompasses the towns of Madison and Durham.
Due to issues with voting machines, the ballots were hand counted in Madison Town Hall on Monday and it took 11 hours, long into Monday evening, for all the ballots to be counted. The Durham recount took place last Friday.
