Former Durham Resident Calls For Memorial in Honor of Charlie Larsen
On his online radio program Monday night, DJ Asselin said he hoped the town would recognize "Mr. Durham" by creating a permanent memorial in his honor.
A former Durham resident says the town should create a permanent memorial to longtime resident Charlie Larsen, who passed away earlier this month.
DJ Asselin refered to his former classmate as "Mr. Durham" during his 90-minute radio show on the Brain Injury Radio Network Monday night.

"A permanent memorial. I really believe it would get quite an outpouring," said Asselin.
During the program, Durham First Selectman Laura Francis told Asselin the community would likely support a memorial and suggested several ideas.

Asselin was also joined on the program by Middlefield resident Bill Glueck, who also was a classmate of Larsen's, as well as his father, a former volunteer firefighter with the Durham Volunteer Fire Company.
A memorial service for Larsen was held last weekend at Coginchaug High School.
