Letter to the Editor: Steve Fontana Will Protect Durham
State Senate candidate understands the issues facing the town and will work to preserve it's natural beauty.

Durham is not only a wonderful town – it’s one of the best towns in all of Connecticut, largely due to our scenic beauty, especially our open spaces and farms. This is why I am concerned by what will happen if we don’t have people in Hartford next year who share our belief in the importance of preserving the environment.
Thankfully, we have a great candidate running for State Senator in the 34th District this year who values the environment. Over the course of his career, Steve Fontana has worked to protect it: he worked on issues from recycling to pesticide use while he was part of North Haven’s Conservation Commission, and helped turn a natural landmark in North Haven into a public park.

During his fourteen years in the General Assembly, Steve served on the Environment Committee, and fought for everything from open space acquisition to energy conservation. As the secretary of the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, Steve continues to demonstrate how important these issues are to him. He believes in keeping Connecticut a green and wonderful place for future generations.
I know, given his record, that Steve Fontana will understand the issues facing Durham, which is why I’ll be voting for him.
