Letter to the Editor: Thank You Local Businesses

More than 30 students participated in the Summer Jobs Program in Durham and Middlefield, and we're thankful to the many businesses who participiated.

 

Dear Community,

Although later than we would have liked it is no less deeply felt that I would like to thank so many area businesses for supporting area teens this summer for the Summer Jobs Program.  Over 30 students participated in this wonderful program, funded by a State grant and administered by the Towns of Durham and Middlefield.  In conjunction with District 13 area youth, ages 14-21, gained work experience they may not have been able to achieve otherwise.  Several students were hired by the employer after it ended as they had become valuable additions to the business.  The local businesses we would like to recognize are:
