Middlefield 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places
Here's everything you need to know concerning the Middlefield local elections, including the candidates, polling places, and voting hours.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — On Nov. 7, Middlefield residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: the town council and school board.
Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

2. "Shall the proposed amendment to Section 303B of the Charter changing the office of Tax Collector from elected to appointed by the Board of Selectmen be adopted?"
3. "Shall the remaining proposed amendments to the Charter contained in the Charter Revision Commission's final report which was accepted by the Board of Selectmen on August 7, 2023, be adopted?"
First Selectman
The Republican candidate is Robert C. Yamartino and the Petitioning candidate is Robert Bascom.
Selectman
The Democratic candidate is Carol L. Bufithis and the Republican candidate is James R. Irish.
Town Clerk
The lone candidate for town clerk is Tonya Hogan, who is endorsed by both political parties.
Tax Collector
The lone candidate for tax collector is Democrat, Anne L. Olszewski.
Town Treasurer
The Democratic candidate is Suz Uznanski and the Republican candidate is Mary Ann Zieminski.
Board of Assessment Appeals
The lone candidate is Republican Kathleen Kokoszka.
Board of Finance
The Democratic candidates are Mary Wolak and Susan McNamara and the Republican candidate is Michael J. Skelps.
