MCC already offers a number of flexible programs for 3 and 4-year-olds and their families, as well as an after school program.

"Middlefield Children's Center's quality programs focus on each child's uniqueness, including their strengths and needs," says director Lisa Fritz. "We also try and meet the needs of families in the community and offer their involvement if they choose, with the cooperative program. For families who may find that difficult, we offer a non cooperative program."

MCC follows the state's guidelines for early childhood development and is involved in the Early Childhood Council in District 13 to assist families with the importance of early literacy.

"The staff focuses on a kindergarten readiness starting with the 3-year-olds," Fritz says.

Opened in 1987, MCC is active in the community and holds several fundraisers including the popular Community BBQ at Peckham Park.

"Although there are many things I enjoy, I would have to say nothing compares to seeing a child's progression, whether it is socially, cognitively or emotionally.  I enjoy each child's uniqueness," Fritz says.

Interested families are encouraged to attend this weekend's open house or contact director Lisa Fritz at 860-349-0202 or middlefieldkids@sbcglobal.net.
