Middlefield Looking for Emergency Management Director
The Board of Selectmen is also looking into paying more money to the person who gets the job.

The Town of Middlefield is looking for an emergency management director.
But before it fills the job, the Board of Selectmen is examining if it's possible to pay the person more than what the job currently is asking: a stipend of $3,000. That's the amount the town has allocated for the position and the Middlefield selectmen agreed that price is too low.
"We have to get serious about trying to find someone," First Selectman John Brayshaw said.
While he didn't mention specifics, Selectman Edward Bailey said he was looking at the salaries of other emergency management directors in towns similar to Middlefield and "we are paying quite low compared to those towns."
"We've got to see what other towns are doing," Bailey said.
Bailey said the board will look discuss the matter with the Board of Finance so to come up with a recommendation on what the stipend should be.
The emergency management typically is in charge of coordinating emergency response during situations like massive snowstorms or other weather events, like hurricanes.
