A Middlefield man was arrested this week after he assaulted a woman inside their home, State Police say. Gary Gardner, 54, of 10 Lakeview Place, was arrested on Dec. 18 and charged with third degree assault, threatening, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. According to a report, the victim contacted police around 4:30 p.m. to say she had been assaulted at her residence. Police arrived at the home and arrested Gardner a short time later. His bond was set at $1,000.
