Middlefield Man Charged with Harassing Ex-Girlfriend

Police say Gilman Levesque sent more than 30 unwanted texts and called his ex 50 times shortly after they broke up.

 

A Middlefield man was arrested this week after police say he harassed his ex-girlfriend by sending unwanted text messages.

Gilman "Jake" Levesque, 27, of 10 Levesque Road, is charged with second degree harassment.

According to a report, Middletown Police received a call from Levesque's ex-girlfriend on Oct. 24. The woman told police she'd recently broken up with Levesque after a nearly nine year relationship but he continued to show up at her work and her sister's house. 

Levesque sent 32 text messages to the victim after she asked him to leave her alone, according to police. Police also say Levesque called the victim 50 times after she made the request.

While the text messages were not threatening in nature, according to police, investigators confiscated three guns registered to Levesque along with his pistol permit. 

Levesque is due back in court Nov. 30.
