Middlefield Woman Charged With DUI, Evading Responsibility After Accident

MIDDLETOWN — At 7:47 p.m., Carolyn L. Stokes-Lau, 45, of Orchard Lane, Middlefield, was involved in a car accident in the parking lot of Jerry's Pizza on South Main Street, then left the scene, according to the report.

Stokes-Lau was found 10 minutes later on Wadsworth Street by Forest Street, police say, and appeared to be intoxicated.

Police said she failed sobriety tests, had her license taken for 24 hours, and then admitted to drinking wine and taking four prescription medicines.

She is due in Middlesex Superior Court on Sept. 25.
