DURHAM, CT — A North Haven man was killed in single-car crash in Durham Monday night, state police said.

The crash took place at about 10 p.m., state police said.

According to a crash report, Anthony Matthew Rapuano, 22, was driving a 2003 Toyota Avalon southbound on Main Street and the car suddenly veered off the road and hit a metal guardrail on the right shoulder.

The car then hit a Frontier utility pole near the intersection of Main Street and Old Cemetery Road, according to a crash report.

Rapuano was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a crash report.

State police said anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has information pertaining to the crash is being asked to contact Trooper Akiel Smith the at Troop F barracks at (860) 399-2100, or at Akiel.Smith@ct.gov.
