Obituary: Anthony M. Meliso Jr., 82, of Durham
Anthony worked many years as an operating engineer and machinist before owning the Clinton Package Store.

DURHAM, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) Anthony M. Meliso Jr., 82, of Durham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown after a brief illness.
He was the beloved husband of Carmel DeCusati Meliso. Anthony was born in New Haven on September 22, 1939 and was the son of the late Anthony M. and Carmela Ruggiero Meliso Sr.
Anthony worked in construction as an operating engineer, later as a machinist for Jarvist Airfoil in Portland and was the owner of the Clinton Package Store for many years.
Beloved father of Michael Meliso, Denise (Jason) Astle, Anthony Meliso III of North East, Maryland and Eric (Clea) Meliso. Loving Pop of Nicholas and Heidi Emack, Ava, Eric II, Abigail, and Joseph Meliso. Brother of Mary Ann Worman and the late Frances Ann Close and Vito Meliso.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of the Comfort Care Unit of Middlesex Hospital for their care and compassion.
The visiting hours will be on Tuesday morning, March 1, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebration in Our Lady of Mercy Parish at Notre Dame Church, Durham at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
