Obituary: Craig T. Price, 58, of Durham
Craig was known as kind, generous, hardworking and selfless. He was a true adventure-seeker, talented "cat-whisperer" and art enthusiast.
DURHAM, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Craig T. Price of Durham, Connecticut, age 58, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on August 22, 1963, the beloved son of the late James and Marlene (Luscre) Price.
He is survived by his sister Debbie and brother-in-law Steve Clear of Stow, OH as well as brother James Price of Ohiopyle, PA. He had a great love for his two nieces Briana (Will) Nowell of Coraopolis, PA and Lindsey (Ty) Jaquay of Morgantown, WV as well as their beautiful children Carver, Laiken, Griffin and Kaiya.
Craig is also survived by the love of his life, Kathy Morin, of Durham, CT, his partner of 25 years. Craig was also the world’s best, most doting pet parent, a true “cat whisperer” whose boys Henry, Redd and Minoux adored him.
Friends and family describe Craig as one of the most kind and generous people they have ever known. He was always thinking of others, a true hardworking, selfless person always looking to give back.
He was surrounded by countless friends and family from all regions, always known as understated, not flamboyant or macho, and a champion of the less fortunate. He lived a simple life, appreciating nature and beauty over material things.
He was eclectic, quirky and a master of the one-liner. He loved art, design and all forms of creativity. His life was filled with laughter and trying not to “sweat the small stuff”.
Craig officiated at many wedding ceremonies, going to great lengths to make each one tailored perfectly to the special couple.
Craig always found great ways to make people’s days brighter, whether sharing a funny cartoon, a unique photo or a humorous story.
He had an amazing eye and was an incredible photographer, having left behind many a memory. He knew how to capture a special moment, a unique landscape or an unusual image. He had a true gift for visual merchandising and could bring an empty space to life, truly transforming a blank canvas into a work of art.
He loved to cook and to carry on the legacy of recipes passed down by his beloved family members, including his late grandmother.
But no food in this world was more special to Craig than Wedgewood Pizza in Austintown, OH.
He is now in heaven enjoying as much as he wants.
A true adventure-seeker, Craig traveled many places throughout his life and was an enduring presence within the whitewater rafting community from coast to coast.
Places most special to Craig were Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania and Craig also held a special place in his heart for a small-town in northwestern Maine near the confluence of the Kennebec and Dead rivers.
This was where he held some of the fondest memories near and dear to his heart.
Craig not only found peace and tranquility in these places, but also found it a time to catch up with both old and new friends alike and to share funny stories and many laughs.
His life was a living storybook of twists and turns entwined with all of the amazing people he crossed paths with along the way.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially friends, family and his one-and-only girl, Chatty.
