Regional School District 13 Referendum Coming Up

Voters will weigh in on whether $7.5 million should be spent on renovations to an elementary school.

DURHAM, CT — Durham and Middlefield voters will go to the polls next month to weigh in on a referendum that, if approved, would provide $7.5 million in funding for renovations to John Lyman Elementary School. The referendum will be Feb. 8, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Coginchaug Regional High School at 135 Pickett Lane in Durham and at the Middlefield Community Center at 405 Main St.

The language of the referendum is as follows:

"Shall Regional School District No. 13, comprised of the Towns of Durham and Middlefield, appropriate $7,500,000 for renovations and improvements to John Lyman Elementary School and authorize the issuance of bonds, notes or temporary notes in an amount not to exceed $7,500,000 to finance the appropriation?"
