The CATO Rocket Club has utilized the open space property for several years and according to the minutes of the Feb. 12 meeting, the club has increased its insurance coverage and has communicated with nearby property owners about the scheduled launches as part of an effort to increase safety.
In addition to approving the schedule, the commission gave the group permission to temporarily install a port-o-potty at the site during the events.
The club will hold a picnic at the site in August.
