Troop F Police Blotter — Arrests Ending Oct. 21, 2013
The latest arrests relating to Durham, Middlefield and other surrounding towns in the region.
The following arrest information came from the State Police Troop F barracks in Westbrook. It does not indicate a conviction.
Durham
Oct. 16
Paul Nicolai, 48, 151 Trimountain Road, Durham, was charged with first-degree failure to appear on Oct. 16 after he was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from Court Street in Middletown. Nicolai was held on a $75,000 surety bond and was due in Middlesex Superior Court on Oct. 17.
Middlefield
Oct. 19
Mark R. Lementel, 54, 386 Jackson Hill Road, Middlefield, was charged with sixth-degree larceny after police said he attempted to walk away from the grounds of the Middlesex Livestock Auction in Middlefield with a Husqvarna chain saw that another patron had just purchased. Security personnel caught him before he left and police later took him into custody. Lementel was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Nov. 1.
Killingworth
Oct. 11
State police are investigating a reported burglary at 75 Paper Mill Road in Killingworth that happened on Oct. 11.
The owner told police she left around 1:30 p.m. to run some errands and, when she came home, her kitchen window was broken and a window screen on another window had been ripped. She came home around 5:11 p.m.
Police said two wooden jewelry boxes containing various precious metal jewelry and gem stones were taken from the home in the upstairs bedroom.
The case is under investigation and anyone with information should contact the Westbrook barracks at 860-349-2325
Guilford
Oct. 11
Rohan Anderson, 23, 87 Ocean View Drive, Mattapan, Mass., was charged with reckless driving and operating without a license after police pulled him over on I-95 on Oct 11 around 2:08 a.m. Police said Anderson was driving 94 mph when the speed limit was 65 mph. He was held on a $1,000 surety bond and was due for arraignment in New Haven Superior Court on Oct. 11.
Oct. 20
Roger S. Barber, 27, 643 Mix Ave., Apt. 22B, Hamden, was charged with criminal possession of a pistol, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, a failure to stop on the right and reckless driving over 85 mph after police said he was pulled over on I-95 at Exit 57 in Guilford going 98 mph in a 65 mph zone.
After police searched his car they found nine small bags containing marijuana bundled into a larger bag, as well as a loaded handgun. Police said Rogers is a convicted felon.
The suspect was taken into custody and held on a $10,000 surety bond. He was scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Oct. 21.
Madison
Oct. 12
Barbara Blumen, 72, 12 Lovers Lane, Madison, was charged with sixth-degree larceny after police said she tried to shoplift at the Childrens Place at the Westbrook Outlets on Oct. 12. She was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Oct. 23.
Haddam
Oct. 13
State police are investigating an attempted burglary of a Haddam gas station that happened on Oct. 13.
Officers responded to the Mobil Gas Station at 1598 Saybrook Road after the manager reported that the front door entrance lock and side glass door were damaged around 1 a.m. The case is under investigation.
East Lyme
Oct. 19
Brett H. Miller, 43, 9 Fair Haven Road, Niantic, was charged with operating under the influence and a failure to drive in the proper lane after police said he was weaving between both lanes of I-95 northbound near Exit 72 in East Lyme on Oct. 19. Miller was pulled over and police determined he was impaired. He was held on a $5,000 bond and is due in Middlesex Superior Court on Oct. 30.
Westbrook
Oct. 16
Percival Lloyd Warburton, 43, 118 Woodward Ave., Apt. #2, was charged with driving under the influence after police said he was clocked going 78 mph on I-95 in Westbrook between exits 65 and 64 on Oct. 16. Police said Warburton failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He later posted a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Oct. 30.
Old Saybrook
Oct. 17
Frederick Jay Henon, 43, 12 Ring Drive, Groton, was charged with operating under the influence and improper parking after police said he had parked his car in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Route 154 and the Route 9 southbound off-ramp in Old Saybrook on Oct. 17 around 11:20 p.m. Henon failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, police said. He was later released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Oct. 30.
Oct. 21
Elvis Joffre Lopez, 28, 370 South Colony Road, Apt. 2, Wallingford, was charged with reckless driving greater than 85 mph and operating without a license after police pulled him over on I-95 south near Exit 67 in Old Saybrook on Oct. 21 around 3:19 a.m. Lopez was held on a $500 bond and is due in Middlesex Superior Court on Nov. 7.
