VIDEO: Patch Asks Coginchaug Students "Why Is Voting Important?"
A mock election was held at the school on Friday and Patch spoke with students about the importance of the right to vote.
Democracy was in action on Friday at Coginchaug High School, where students participated in a mock Presidential election.
The event was organized by Coginchaug senior Greta Wilt and designed to highlight the importance of voting as well as to reduce the fear that students might have of casting a ballot in an election.

"This is their citizenship class in action," said Principal Andre Hauser.
According to Durham's Registrars of Voters about 50 students at the high school are eligible and have registered to vote in the Nov. 6 general election.
