Winner Announced in Durham Fall Fest Door Decorating Contest

Joann and John Giaimo 0f 322 Main St. are the winners of the Fall Fest Door Decorating Contest.

Their picture perfect display of fall’s bounty was the choice of voters in the decorating contest jointly sponsored by the Economic Development Commission and the Durham Garden Club.

Pictured above are John Giaimo, Joann Giaimo, Economic Development Commission Chairman Alana Simlick and Ona McLaughlin, representing both the Commission and the Durham Garden Club. The basket of prizes was donated by local businesses.

Local merchants reported brisk Fall Fest sales and shoppers enjoyed the challenge of visiting multiple stores to have their frequent shopper passports stamped. The Economic Development Commission is grateful to the many volunteers who helped make the day a huge success with activities on the Green, at the Library, the Activity Center, Durham Fair Farm Museum, and the Durham Historical Society.
