2 East Haven Restaurants “Fail” Restaurant Food Inspections
The East Shore Health District regular inspects hundred of restaurants in East Haven, Branford and North Branford.

EAST HAVEN, CT - Two East Haven food establishments did not pass food inspections according to the most recent listing on the East Shore Health District’s website.
A failing grade doesn’t mean that a restaurant has to close; restaurants are generally given time to fix whatever issue caused them to earn a “failing” mark and often do, according to inspectors at the district.
The East Haven food establishments that did not pass were the Rib House and Brazzas & Charcoal.
The health district inspects and licenses hundreds of food establishments in East Haven, Branford and North Branford, most of which are inspected multiple times per year.
The main purpose of the inspection program is to ensure food safety and to prevent the occurrence of food borne illness in communities.
On its website the district says this about the inspection program:
“Special attention is given to safe food practices, prevention of food contamination and food temperature control. We also perform facility plan reviews for new or renovated food establishments to ensure that the physical plant and its equipment are conducive to safe food preparation and service.
“Reports of food borne illness and complaints regarding sanitation of food establishments are handled and investigated by the health district.”
